Description

This intensive two-day practical course on anatomical specimens is designed for plastic surgeons, gynecological surgeons, and oncological surgeons wishing to consolidate or deepen their skills in breast reconstruction. The course alternates between theoretical sessions and supervised practical dissections, allowing each participant to work directly on the essential techniques of implant-based and flap-based reconstruction.

Objectifs pédagogiques

Acquire and consolidate core technical skills in three areas :

  • Mastectomy and immediate or delayed implant-based reconstruction
  • Pedicled autologous flaps: latissimus dorsi and variants
  • Microsurgical free flaps: DIEP, PAP, gracilis, gluteal and lumbar flaps

Day 1 — Implants, latissimus dorsi and DIEP

Theory : Implant techniques and mastectomies

  • Nipple-sparing mastectomy
  • Skin-sparing mastectomy
  • Skin-reducing mastectomy
  • Delayed reconstruction
  • Abdominal advancement flap
  • Synthetic and biological matrices
  • Subpectoral and subfascial pocket

Theory : Autologous flaps

  • Latissimus dorsi for immediate reconstruction
  • Latissimus dorsi for delayed reconstruction
  • Muscle-sparing and perforator latissimus dorsi flap
  • DIEP flap

Practical dissection: two cadaveric sessions.

Day 2 — Thigh, lumbar and gluteal flaps, and recipient vessels

Theory: Recipient vessels and thigh flaps

  • Internal mammary vessels
  • Circumflex scapular vessels
  • Gracilis flap
  • PAP flap
  • Fascia lata perforator flap
  • Anterolateral thigh flap

Theory : Gluteal and lumbar flaps

  • Gluteal flaps: SGAP, IGAP
  • Lumbar flap

Practical dissection: two cadaveric sessions
