The ICL, Cancer centre (Centre de lutte contre le cancer – CLCC) and private health establishment (établissement de santé privé d’intérêt collectif – ESPIC), member of Unicancer, dedicates its entire medical and paramedical activity to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Recognised as promoting the public interest, it does not work within the private sector and charges no additional fees.
The centre treats more than 15,000 patients per year, providing both standard and highly specific care.
Created in 1924, the Centre is located on the plateau de Brabois, near Nancy regional university hospital, with which it makes up the Lorraine regional cancer centre. The ICL is a member of the NEON health network (Eastern France).
Certified as a clinical research centre, the centre is an important stakeholder in research and participates in numerous projects.
Highly involved in teaching oncology in Lorraine, the ICL dispenses more than 3,000 hours teaching per year, part of which is accredited as “Continuing Professional Development”.
It collects donations to finance its research, innovation or patient support projects. The Institut de Cancérologie de Lorraine features among the Top 200 in the American magazine Newsweek’s “World’s best hospitals 2021” inaugural ranking, according to the recommendations of more than 40,000 experts and validation by a global panel of renowned medical experts.
