Created in 1923, Centre François Baclesse in Caen has been working in three areas of oncology for almost 100 years. They include treatment, teaching and research.
It is among the 100 world’s best hospitals specialised in oncology (Newsweek 2020 and 2021 ranking).
It is the 1st French centre to be awarded the European EUSOMA certification for its Institut Normand du Sein (INS). This certification label is awarded by the European Society of Breast Cancer Specialists.
The Centre is certified level A by the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS), which is the highest level.
Centre François Baclesse is one of the only 3 French centres to offer therapeutic innovation in the form of proton therapy. Proton therapy is a form of innovative radiotherapy used to improve the effectiveness and reduce the toxicity of certain cancer treatments.
